Welcome to the World of Jakima,

Here you can find background information on Jakima: the online shop for personalised invitations and announcement cards.

The idea for this shop was born in September 2004. Heavily pregnant, I started looking for cards to send out to family and friends announcing the birth of our baby. Much to my surprise I couldn’t find any.

When I mentioned this to Marion – a childhood friend, who had become an experienced greetingcards designer with Hallmark, Fun Industries and TMS International among her clients – we both felt that this was a gap in the UK market.

Another five years passed before we actually started further developing our idea of selling birth announcement cards in the UK. While Marion started designing, I explored the market. The result is Jakima: an online shop specialising in personalised announcement cards and invitations.

All the designs are excusively sold on the Jakima website and printed on top quality paper (Tintoretto Gesso 250 gsm) using a top quality digital press (HP/Indigo 5000).
